Author Bio

Kim Bambrook is an author, poet, storyteller and adventurer.

A whimsical child prone to wandering the paddocks of her childhood farm and making up stories, Kim entered adulthood seeking adventure and exploration. Filling travel journals was both a compulsion and Kim’s way of trying to make sense of the world.

The author's first novel, Undertow, was published in July 2022. It is a fictional Tasmanian adventure/survival story and reflects Kim's love of exploration and wilderness regions. Themes that resonate in Undertow, as in all of Kim's writing, include those of resilience, nature as guide and healer, and the power of love.

Kim contributed to a recently released anthology titled, Voices of the Southern Ocean, along with other writers based in Nipaluna/Hobart and from further afield. This book reflects writers engagement with the Southern Ocean and is an initiative of Hobart City of Literature.

Kim lives in Hobart, atop a hill and close to the sea. When not working or writing Kim likes to plan for new adventures. Her latest writing projects include a children's book set in Crete and an anthology of poetry.
